ActionTRN™ was established to put our purpose ahead of profit, so we can make a significant difference to people's lives.
We believe together we can make a very real and very important difference to those less fortunate than us.
When The Recruitment Network (TRN) was established in 2016, the founding directors made it clear that this was going to be a business that at its heart had a very clear set of values, that was committed to ethical code of conduct and that was driven by a purpose.
In fact, as an organisation, we believe our Purpose motive should always sit right next to our Profit motive.
Having lived by that ethos continually in everything we do, we are now very proud to be in a position to be able to formalise that purpose as we officially launch the new charitable foundation of TRN affectionately known as ActionTRN™.
ActionTRN™ is about supporting those who need our help the most.
As a community with so many members across the globe, TRN has the ability to make a significant impact on people’s lives.

On behalf of all our members and the wider recruitment community, ActionTRN™ is committed to proactively supporting our elective charities.
We do this in three ways:
- We commit to donating a percentage of all TRN GP to ActionTRN™.
- We commit to donating 10% of all GP generated through our referral programmes to ActionTRN™.
- We commit to hosting and getting involved in a number of events throughout the year to raise further funds for ActionTRN™.
100% of all funds raised and donated to ActionTRN™ will be used for charitable causes.
At The Recruitment Network we pride ourselves on giving back to the world of recruitment and beyond.
We regularly run charity events to raise money and awareness to some of the most deserving charities which we rotate on a quarterly basis. We also aim to raise awareness of diversity in recruitment through frequently held events and webinars on the subject, connecting business leaders with experts on the topic.
We wanted to do more than just talk about charity – we wanted to create a movement where we bring together our employees, are customers and our peers and immerse ourselves in a whole host of activities (whether big and small) that when added together enable us to achieve our overarching mission.
The concept is simple, to use the power of our networks and work collaboratively to make a significant impact to the various charitable causes we support. Every year, we select a handful of charities that someone within our network has a very significant attachment to, and we set ourselves a fundraising target to achieve.
Our mission is to then share the monies we raise amongst our chosen charities and make a difference to their causes.
Latest Charitable Project: the #10,000meals Campaign
In 2020, due to Covid-19, many lives have been turned upside down.
Last year, many people were struggling to be able to put food on their tables at Christmas, and that is just not right.
ActionTRN™ were therefore supporting and raising necessary funds for FareShare, UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors.
FareShare take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to almost 11,000 frontline charities and community groups including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. Every week they provide enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people.
Our 2020 target was to help provide 10,000 Christmas meals to children in need which, with the help of our members, we surpassed.
