Our Partner Highlights | 04

At The Recruitment Network we work closely with our partner organisations to offer the best in the way of knowledge, tips and advice for our members, but we also want to extend that to our readers too. Here at TRN we work closely with our partners, all of whom are experts in their field, to offer the best tips, knowledge and advice for our members. We want to extend some of this out to our readers too, so here are some of the insightful blogs, articles and news from them over the past few weeks.

Thomas International

This week our Gold Partners, Thomas International, released an interview with Ian MacRae on Centennials. To fully cover their topic of diversity, they are now exploring age. Centennials are coming of age, with Thomas saying that by 2020 they will make up 20% of the workforce. So, are you ready to lead them?

At the end of March Thomas also hosted a webinar on minimising bias in decision making. They focused on three areas (recruitment, promotion and succession, and appraisal and development). The webinar gives all the answers you need on bias in the workplace:

  • What is bias?
  • How does it impact the workplace?
  • Who does it impact?
  • What roles do psychometric assessments play in minimising bias?

The world seems to be changing at a dizzying rate and it can seem difficult to predict which trends will catch on and who will be successful. The most important thing to remember though, is that the key traits that street high potential remain very stable and consistent. We cannot predict the future, but we can measure six key traits that indicate how an employee, or a leader will react to different situations, stressors or surprises. One of Thomas International’s latest blog article explores these six key traits and how you can identify high potential and adapt to a changing world of work.

This week Access Group have posted a handy blog on 3 Ways to Stand out in a Competitive Recruitment Market. Paul then covered the popular topic at the moment of GDPR and what you need to know before 25th May, plus the FCSA’s 7 steps for Criminal Finance Act risk management.

Kingsbridge

Kingsbridge, who are our Silver Partners, provide insurance to contractors. Their recent article that was released this week is on how the gig economy has changed the working world. There has been debate in recent years on the status of the gig economy and whether it marks a new dawn for employment. Or could it be an unwelcome pariah that will consume entire industries, doing more harm than good?

Here it is again, that very important topic of GDPR, but here Kingsbridge have written an article on what GDPR means for contractors.
